Karmaloop will be representing HEAVY in Austin, Texas next week for the annual South by Southwest festival, so come and check us out if SXSW is on your destination map this Spring. Our homies Clinton Sparks, Bad Rabbits, DJ Red Foxx, Audible Mainframe and many more will be performing at a number of showcases this year and we’ll keep you posted on all of the madness – but in the meantime, mark your calendars for our events on March 17th and 20th. We get it started with SHITFACED at Beauty Bar (Blogs’ favorite spot in Austin!) featuring those Rabbits, Mr. Get Familar and KarmaloopTV’s own Red Foxx, and keep it moving through the weekend with a Lawyers4Musicians-sponsored free show at Aces Lounge on the 20th featuring Cool Kids, Kidz in the Hall and our perpetual children Bad Rabbits.
Hope to see you there, and stay tuned for more SXSW news!

Upper Playground has produced a t-shirt in conjunction with Snoop Dogg to celebrate his concert in San Francisco tonight, March 3rd, 2010. Although Snoop has defined the music of a generation and has achieved iconic mainstream success, he has always been one to remain true to local and upcoming artistic movements, regardless of their discipline. So, on his current “More Malice” tour, Snoop is connecting with the community and working with local artists to create merchandise authentic to a select number of cities on the tour.
For the San Francisco stop, Snoop has teamed up with Upper Playground and San Francisco-based artist Jeremy Fish to create a t-shirt for Snoop’s current tour in support of his upcoming record and tour.
A limited number of tees will be available at The Fillmore (1805 Geary Boulevard San Francisco, CA 94115) tonight for the show, as well as down the street from The Fillmore at the Upper Playground San Francisco location (220 Fillmore Street San Francisco CA 94117). The rest of the production of t-shirts will be available on the Upper Playground online store.

Check out Karmaloop Founder/CEO Greg Selkoe with special guests at the Hellz x Vans launch party in New York City earlier this week, and to get a closer look at the collaboration, (read and see more here:)
“Collaborations don’t come around like this all the time. The planets must’ve been aligned or something ‘cuz the way Vans x Hellz came together was so organic… we met stylist Anika when she was doing a style pull at the office. She mentioned how she thought Hellz would be a perfect fit for the company her husband worked for – turned out her man was Jon Warren from Vans. We later linked up with him, Rian and Erica and the rest is history. Everything from there was like a dream come true. They were as invested in the collaboration as we were and we worked closely together from start to finish, making it not only easy, but an incredibly fun learning experience.” – MissLawn of Hellz

As part of Together: The New England Electronic Music Festival, Karmaloop has paired up with Thunderdome to present it’s biggest line-up ever.
In a very special Together closing party, we’re bringing out three very special guests to rock Boston’s Villa Victoria Center for the Arts.
Joining Thunderdome resident DJs Mistaker, Karmaloop’s Red Foxx and Dev/Null, plus VJs Robotkid and Matt Boch providing visual stimulation for the night, local heros Hot Pink Delorean have been taking the electronic music world by storm since it’s start just a few years ago; with remixes and original tracks showing up on playlists throughout the world, HPD continues to develop it’s soul-sonic, mind-fucking sound. What’s more, Boston underground hip-hop don Virtuoso is joining HPD to debut his latest tracks making this a not-to-be-missed set.
All the way from frigid Iceland, the Steed Lord Soundsystem have been turning heads on blogs and at most of the major festivals throughout Europe and the US. For the collective’s Boston debut, they will certainly show us beaneaters how they can rock a party.
Finally, New York City party queen Roxy Cottontail will be guesting with frequent collaborator Luther. Roxy has become a legend in the NYC club scene and has ventured North to see what all the fuss it about here in the Hub. Whether DJ’ing or MC’ing, Roxy’s talents speak for themselves so let’s show her how batshit insane this lil’ city of ours can get.
Keeping with Together’s support of Partners in Health, there will be a special Valentine’s Kissing Booth with all proceeds going to benefit disaster relief in Haiti. Partners in Health they are a local charity who are on the ground in Port-au-Prince right now providing much needed healthcare to those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy.
Photos will be taken all night by NYC’s Nicky Digital coming up for a special appearance – so look good, damnit, it’s been a long, long time since he’s shot a party in here in the Bean.
As you can imagine, this is going to fill up quickly so if you want a better chance of getting in, cop a Together Festival Pass at Brown Paper Tickets. This is the only way to buy tickets ahead of time, and while the Thunderdome is always capacity dependent, they will be holding 50 spots for festival pass-holders up until midnight and pass holders will get to jump the line like they’re all important and shit.
If you haven’t already, be sure to join the Together Group for more information on what is shaping up to be a new era in Boston nightlife, and as always, check out the Thunderdome group for sneak peaks, secrets that can’t be disclosed publicly and more special offers. There is a rumor that there might be a few guest list spots given away in the near future… *hint hint*

Gentlemen of Boston, what’s good?!
It’s Friday night, you just got paid, and the weather isn’t as freezing that your nuts try to crawl inside your belly – so come through to Karmaloop’s flagship store re-launch, now featuring clothes only for us dudes!
That’s right, tonight is payback for all of the times your girl dragged you through fuckin’ H&M, Claire’s or some other shit. Bring ol’ girl and check out the latest drops from LRG, Supra, Artful Dodger, WeSC and much, much more – we have the whole damned place to ourselves! That’s wall-to-wall men’s gear, sneakers, boots, accessories and a grip of fly naked chicks running around just dying to make out.
Alright, the last part isn’t necessarily true… but it could be. You just never know at one of our jams.
Oh, also worth mentioning that we have free booze, exclusive sales, tunes from the lovely Ms. Thang, and a raffle for the Crooks & Castles x SE Racing 26″ Flyer Bike with all proceeds going towards the relief effort in Haiti. Get twisted, get it on the cheap and be a better person in the span of four hours!
See you there!

If there’s a party, then you know KarmaloopTV is going to be out in full force. Check out some of the Super Bowl Weekend festivities from Miami, Florida with guest host and former National Football League defensive back Artrell Hawkins as the crew tackles South Beach at the Rolls Royce jam.

(Some dope happenings this weekend for you West Coast cats courtesy of Altamont:)
This Friday, February 12th, The GOAT & The Occasional Others are hosting it’s record release party at Three Clubs (1123 Vine Street, Hollywood, CA) with special guests The Blackouts, Heather Thompson and Turbotito vs. Timmy the Terror.
Featuring Altamont founder/team member Andrew Reynolds with skateboarders Atiba Jefferson, Kevin “Spanky” Long, Shane Heyl and the one and only Beagle, these dudes make as much noise on stage as they do on the decks, so if you’re in the area this is a show definitely worth checking out. Grown folks-status only, so if you’re not 21, don’t go unless you have a killer fake I.D.

L.A.’s Saturday night is lookin’ alright, too; hardcore punk pioneer and artist Tim Kerr, a contributor to Altamont’s Spring 2010 line, is currating the showcase Truth – A Kill Soulless Bullshit Happening, opening February 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. hosted by At Family Backroom Gallery (436 N. Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles). The exhibit features work from influential artists A.J. Nesselrod, Todd Swank, Craig Jackman and many more, plus music performances by killers No Age, as well as a set from Mike Watt with Tim Kerr – just like the good ol’ days, with the former Minutemen and Big Boys members sharing a stage… that’s enough to bring a tear to our blooshot, blackened eye.
Altamont will release Kerr’s first book of art for the occaision, titled Your Name Here, and further dish out some super limited edition 10″ vinyl EPs with new music from Kerr – incentive much?

While you were sleeping… we were raging… with ballerinas. Click above to check out some video of our latest night out wit the Boston Ballet, including Karmaloop CEO Greg Selkoe popping, locking and showing off his crazy leg style! Big shouts to Mikko Nissinen and his outstanding troupe – can’t wait for the next jam!
